A very pleasant day at Epi fete thanks to the team we managed to raise €154 and thanks to Blevin Frank's for the magnum of champagne.


October branch meeting, a talk from our sponsors Blevins Franks. The topic has not been confirmed but they are expected to cover the impending BREXIT.

Valentine’s Day Breakfast at Alexander the Great Hotel. Twenty three Branch members attended a sumptuous breakfast to start Valentines Day off on the right foot. The choice of food was mind boggling, the hotel staff most attentive and a glass of sparkling wine started the day with a bang!  A wonderful time was had by all.

        


The February attendance draw of €10 was won by David Leitch, who was present on the night. The draw will start at €10 again in March. The February main draw of €35 was not won and will rollover to March.


Our Treasurer and Welfare Officer, Mike Gerard, being presented with the Dennis Ames certificate and shield by our Chairman, for his outstanding work for the Branch.

The January attendance draw of €20 was won by Yvonne Gerard, who was present on the night. The draw will start at €10 in February. The January main draw of €67 was won by Trevor Sait. The February draw will depend on the money collected on the night.


Helen organised a trip to the Tsangarides winery on Saturday 8th of Dec followed by lunch at the Letybou tavern. A very enjoyable experience. I hope that everyone had a good day.

We have been trying to organise breakfast at the Alexander the great hotel for January just waiting for the cost.

The November attendance draw of €10 was won by Jill Busk, who was not present on the night, and will roll over to January 2019.
The November main draw of €45 was not won and will roll over to January 2019.


The October attendance draw of €20 worth of M and S vouchers was won by Harry Rae. Harry was present on the night and so the draw will revert to €10 in November.

The September main draw of €36 worth of M and S vouchers was won by Eleanor Rae (Keep it in the family. The draw will start at zero in November.
 

The annual Episcopi Fete took place on 15th September in Happy Valley. The Branch held a raffle which, with the help of Blevins Franks sponsorship, raised €329 for the 2019 Wings Appeal.

The first prize, of a quarter gold sovereign, celebrating 100 years of the RAF, waswon by Ethan Kruger.
The second prize, of a first world war soldier in silhouette, was won by Ethan’s father, Paul Kruger.
The third prize, of a magnum of champagne, courtesy of Blevins Franks, was won by our Chairman, John Perks.
Congratulations to the winners.

The attendance draw of €60 worth of M&S vouchers was won in March by Lynda Davis., Lynda was present on the night and so the draw will revert to €10 for the April 2019 meeting.

The attendance draw of €50 worth of M&S vouchers was won in February by Derrick Knapp.

The presentation of a certificate of “Appreciation” took place at Blevin Franks in September, to acknowledge the support the financial advisors have given Apollo Branch over the last two years.



A memorial cross, on behalf of Apollo Branch, was laid at the Field of Remembrance, Westminster Abbey, in the lead up to Remembrance Sunday weekend.

On Saturday 23rd of September the Apollo Branch had a gasebo at Episcopi fete it was a great day, the day started a bit slow but picked up as the day went on my thanks to the team for the effort every one put in especially Ethan Kruger getting the public to try the duck dip we managed to raise just short of 500 euros well done everyone & thanks for all the donations

Vista's to Sodap winery - The visit to the Sodap winery in Stroumbi on the 14th of July went down well a few pictures to show of the event. We were shown around the winery by our host Irene who looked after us with the food and plenty of wine tasting. We raised over €100 for the association my thanks to all who attended and joined in with the fund raising.

What a fantastic day on Thursday with a trip to the Lemona winery followed by a meze at the Letymbou tavern the food just kept coming. Thanks to Joyce and Peter for organising this it was enjoyed by all.

The annual treasure hunt took place on the 6th of may with the Finnish at picnic forest for a barbecue. Although the weather was a bit on the cool side we managed to have a good time. We raised €128 for the association with the generous support of the attendees to which I would like to thank you all for the support that you showed on the day.

The monthly draw for February stood at €124.  The lucky winner was June Tweedie. Congratulations June!

The November draw of €130.25 was won by the Apollo President Gp Capt Bea Walcott. Bea very kindly returned the money to go towards the Christmas draw. Thank you very much Mrs President.

Following Helen Kruger’s big win in June, there was no winner for July. The August draw will stand at €47 plus the ticket sales from that night.

The June rollover of €40 was won by Suzanne Perkins who was not present to receive her prize. The next rollover in July will be €50.

Congratulations to Helen Kruger who won the draw in June with a winning ticket for €474!  The draw in July will now start from scratch.
